A magazine about paper sounds dull, right? But What’s Next, published by John Brown for multinational paper manufacturer Sappi Europe, was quite the opposite. An award-winning title that was distinctively innovative and playful, it hosted an on-going discussion about the future of print.
As editor, I had the opportunity to collaborate with, commission and interview some of the industry’s top editors, photographers, creative directors and publishers (Nicholas Coleridge, Glenda Bailey, Sølve Sundsbø, Wired and Frieze magazines, to name a few). Creatively, it was as demanding as any project I have worked on.
